Medical Center - Process

Suva Private Hospital aims to make the out-patient process as simple as possible. New patients will need to fill in a registration form that lists essential information. Patients who have visited Suva Private Hospital previously, can make an appointment by phone and their patient file will be ready on arrival.

On arrival at reception, new patients (walk-ins) are registered and a record is created in their name before they are sent to the Medical Centre where their files and condition are assessed for urgency by nurses. Returning patients are checked-in and their files would have already been transferred to the Medical Centre for assessment by triage nurses.

The triage nurses at the Medical Centre will determine which are urgent cases that need attending to by a Medical Practitioner immediately. Life-threatening conditions, such as cardiac arrests, will be seen to immediately.

A Medical Practitioner will examine patients before determining whether the patient needs further specialist treatment. Any such specialist treatment can easily be arranged with one of Suva Private Hospital's customer service officers who handle bookings for appointments with Specialist Practitioners.

For detailed information on the process and payment options, see Patient Information.
